Mini Concentration 3

The pictures I created for my third mini concentration is utilization of texture in foods.  Many times we eat food, not knowing what kind taste it is, what kind of texture it has. Sometimes, we don't even know what the food looks like.  Because of this, I decided to take pictures of the textures of food.  In some countries, the food they eat are weird, disgusting looking and even oddly textured.  With the combination of foods we commonly eat, and even the odd kinds of food, it gives me a good variety of textures of the foods people on earth eat.  I also included the variety of colors, which also contributes to the aesthetics of the food and how it looks.

  1. Max I really like your photos, your description is accurate and it really explains what you did. Overall I think the topic is interesting and is definitely not something that we would be seeing in Vancouver on a daily basis. Your best photo is probably the second one. One not so good is the first one because of the angle and the focus. It seems a little blurry and it’s kind of hard to tell what it is. Could be improved by maybe including the entire food and making sure it’s focused or sharpened up.

  3. Your description is very good and explains what you did well. I think this is an interesting way to view food and your concentration is focused but diverse - good job! My favorite is of the green thing. My least favorite is of the last squishy thing because it freaks me out and looks like intestines. But I agree with Eli, increased sharpness and clarity would help the photos - mainly the first third and forth photos.

  4. Good explanation of the concentration. The intestines are a little disturbing...
The photos look good...one criticism I have is that the composition could be improved on many of them. I feel like a few could be closer to emphasize the texture or a little farther away to give more context. 1,2 and 5 for example could all be either closer or farther away. The angles could be improved on 1 and 6. I realize that these may have been in shops and you might not have had much control, but different composition and angles would have helped. 46/50
